What is Pediatric Dentistry
According to the American Dental
Association, “Pediatric dentistry is an age-defined
specialty that provides both primary and
comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health
care for infants and children through adolescence,
including those with special health care needs.”
Each of our doctors completed an advanced education
residency program that provides them with necessary
experience to deliver comprehensive primary oral
health care and the services of a specialist.
An important part of our specialty is the
infant exam. Thus, the American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry recommends that children receive a dental
examination by their first birthday. The
American Academy of Pediatrics similarly recommends
that children at risk be seen by the age of one.
This provides an opportunity to implement beneficial
health practices and to reduce children’s risk of
preventable oral disease.
